Non Destructive Testing


Taknia offers a full range of inspection and corrosion monitoring services, tailored to suit the needs of the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. These services are carried out against formal procedures, documented in accordance with BS EN ISO 9002:2000, to give clients full confidence in the quality of the finished product and Taknia’s service.


Inspection & Testing

The following is the range of services offered by Taknia, which are undertaken by fully trained staff, qualified to internationally recognised standards (e.g. CSWIP, PCN, ASNT):

  • Radiographic examination
  • Ultrasonic inspection
  • Magnetic particle Inspection
  • Liquid penetrant Inspection
  • Holiday detection
  • Vacuum Testing

All of these tests are carried out in accordance with international codes, ASME V, ANSI B31.3 API 650,BS 2910, BS3923 and of course, any client requirements.



To support our NDT activities, Taknia has the following facilities available to enable it to offer a continuous service to clients:

Non Destructive Testing



We train, examine, and certifying the companies employees accordance with the requirements of ASNT American Society for Non-Destructive Testing recommended practice no. SNT –TC-1A for the following testing methods and levels :

  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI) ASNT Level I & Level II.
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) ASNT Level I & Level II.
  • Radiographic Testing (RT) ASNT Level I & Level II
  • Penetrant Testing (PT) ASNT Level I & Level II
  • Visual Testing (VT) ASNT Level I & Level II


  • The above courses are presented by instructors possessing ASNT Level III certificate in the method being instructed and training in instructional methods.
  • Course duration is determined by the requirements of the specified ASNT document no. SNT-TC-1A, at TLEC, the surface and sub surface method (MT, PT & VT) require minimum 20 hours for certification to level I & II, while the methods used most often to investigate the interior of an object (UT & RT), require minimum 70 hours for level I & II Certification.
