Managing Risk Through Hazard Identification and Assessment

Taknia HSE Group provides experienced engineers with significant expertise in hazard and operability studies (HazOp) services for risk management related consulting. HazOps can bring value to projects by helping to manage risk, determine hazards, improve design’s operability and maintainability, and identify beneficial ideas.

It is a specialist methodology that requires expert knowledge and skills, and Taknia's HSE team can assist clients in all aspects of scheduling, planning and finding the resources to achieve these objectives and make their HazOps successful.

Whether it is new Oil and gas facility or an existing facility, Taknia’s expertise can apply structured hazard analysis techniques to hazard identification studies (HazID and HazOps) and deliver value in concept selection, design engineering, and continued risk management experience.

Taknia’s HSE team offers expertise in all areas of oil and gas production This can be provided from project inception, where team members can consult on the inherent risks involved, up to including the supporting documentation and recommendations or the risk management at project completion.

Target Zero

The concept of this has been used in the industry for many years but Taknia believe that the achievement of this zero tolerance towards accidents is an attainable objective and shall be the corner stone of the HSE policy developed and will provide the basis for the development of the system.

It is essential that all management are fully aware that safety is a primary action in reducing injuries, lost production and environmental damage.

During the implementation and training phase the Taknia's HSE group will be tasked to ensure that all Management will be accountable for

  • Ensuring compliance to management objectives and goals
  • Ensuring that goals are achieved and maintained
  • Confirming that the processes under their jurisdiction are being maintained and implemented.

Development of a HSE Management System

A HSE management system can be developed by Taknia's HSE group to comply with the requirement of the internationally accepted standard ISO 14000 - Environmental Management Systems and the recognised document OHSAS 18001 - Occupational health and safety management systems. This approach will ensure compatibility with (and possible integration into) ISO 9000:2000 - Quality Management Systems.

This approach provides the client with the flexibility of a 'stand alone' HSE management system or (if and when required) a fully Integrated Management System (IMS) of their Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSE&Q) activities.

The HSE system will be developed taking into account all legislative and mandatory client requirements and will ensure the integration of HSE and management practises into one cohesive system embracing all activities of the Clients operation throughout exploration, design, procurement, construction, operations and transportation.
